“I went from hell to heaven. I had just won an incredible match at Wimbledon against Garbi Muguruza, top 14 in the world and one of the favourites to win the tournament. I was at the peak of my career as a professional tennis player.
I had fulfilled a dream, to beat a top 20 player. I was only 23 years old and I felt that I could compete against the best players in the world.
Days later I received an email from the ITF, where they literally accused me of doping and suspended me as a professional player. The world fell at my feet”.
This is a fragment of the letter published by Beatriz Haddad Maia on 22 May 2020, when she was informed, after 10 months of doping sanctions, that she was officially free to play tennis again.
Despite confirming the thesis of non-voluntariness defended by Beatriz’s legal defence, she went from being number 58 in the world to being out of the circuit.
She went from rubbing shoulders with players like Muguruza, playing on the fine green grass of tournaments like Wimbledon or enjoying the benefits of having sponsors, to having to play a qualifying round to be able to play in the main draw of a 25k ITF tournament in Portugal, playing without an audience and paying for the trip out of her own pocket.
Beatriz’s history is full of downs. She went through three surgeries; two back hernias and a shoulder hernia.
All at the age of just 23.
Watch out for what’s coming next.
In September 2020, Beatriz returned to the circuit, winning 27 of the 29 matches she played and winning 4 ITF titles.
Thanks to this Glicko graph generated by WinnerOdds you can see perfectly her break and recovery.
As you can see, the rise is notorious, reaching the best moment of his career.
And WinnerOdds, which is an algorithm that doesn’t sleep, rest, eat or have emotions, located her and put her on the map in time.
All in order.
Here the result:
Since her return, we have b3t 79 matches in her favour, with some €435,834 wagered, making a profit of €61,421 with a yield of 14.09%.
On 9 June 2022 we celebrate the 6th anniversary of WinnerOdds.
During all these 6 years, WinnerOdds has already accumulated more than €6,200,000 in winnings, where almost 1% of them are thanks to Beatriz.
And we wanted to celebrate by telling you this story because in this house we do not believe in coincidences.
Luck and variance can affect you every day of your life, without exception.
– Like Beatriz
But it is the constant day-to-day work that brings you closer to success.
That’s how it is, and you know it.
And, as much as it may bother some people, at WinnerOdds we know a lot about falling down and getting back up again.
To bounce back from adversity and to understand that many of the things that happen around us are beyond our control.
Take a look,
2020 was a year in which sporting competitions around the world suffered an abrupt interruption.
– From one day to the next, everything stopped.
All subscriptions were paused.
The counter was reset to zero.
Imagine your company losing all its customers and losing revenue with a totally uncertain future ahead of it.
To be honest, it was quite difficult to look at things with any optimism, because nobody really knew what was going to happen with this virus.
It was out of our control.
However, the WO algorithm never stopped working, learning and improving during all this time.
We know that there are no shortcuts. There are no magic solutions.
Limitations, account closures, drawdowns or pandemics have all been part of the way to make WinnerOdds what it is today.
More than 50,000 b3ts have been launched since 2016, beating the bo0kmakers.
Some call it luck, we call it hard work and patience, which are the two most important characteristics of an investor.
The journey, as Beatriz has been able to demonstrate by winning her first WTA tournament in 2022, has been a long one,
but as with any investment, with daily work, perseverance and patience, you are always more likely to get results.
This lesson can be applied to any facet of life.

Whether you are a professional tennis player, an algorithm, a simple investor or a parent, life has its own script and waits for no one.
That’s why we always remember something, as it was said at the presentation of WinnerOdds 6 years ago:
“If when you fall down, you get up again, that means you are a Winner”
Best regards 🙂
P.S.: If you want to live all this with us and celebrate together the 7th anniversary of WinnerOdds, here are the links.
I can’t promise you any money,
– obviously you know it doesn’t work like that,
what I can promise you is that we have been winning like a sledgehammer for 6 years,
and we will continue to do so whether the b00kies like it or not.
I can’t promise you that it will be easy, the bo0kmakers and your aversion to losses, your quick thinking, will make it difficult for you.
But if you can think slowly and take the long view, not only can you make money, but you will take away a lifelong learning and join a community that I am learning from every day.
